A Study on the Job Satisfaction of Vocational Education Teachers in Special School Settings for Students with Mentally Retardation

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the job satisfaction of vocational education teachers in special school for the mentally retarded according to the school establishment(private school, public school), teaching profession career, ranks and qualified vocational education. 121 vocational education teachers responded to the questions. The questionaries consist of 6 job satisfaction areas and have 36 questions. The results of this study are as following£º First, job satisfaction by school establishment is department in 2 areas of curriculum, relations with community private school teachers was high than public school teachers. Second, job satisfaction according to teaching profession career, in 2 areas of teaching profession attitude, compensation system teachers who have career fewer than 5 years and more than 21 years was higher. Also, job satisfaction by rank(position) was higher head of a department teachers more than common teachers in 4¡Æ areas of administrative assistance system, teaching profession attitude, curriculum, relations with community. Third, teachers who job satisfaction by qualified vocational education teacher were higher in 4 areas of administrative assistance system, relation among teachers, curriculum, relations with community than nonqualified vocational education teacher. Professionalism may have to be refurbished in reply so that vocational education teachers more injections may be achieved for development of essential vocational education for perfect social rehabilitation of disabled person ultimately. To do, long-term political care may have to follow.
